John Albert Sharp II, 78, of Kennett Square Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Chester County Hospital. Born March 2, 1927, he was a lifelong resident of Chester County. The son of the late John A. Sharp I and Lillie E. Crisfield Sharp, he graduated from Kennett High School, Class of 1947. He served in the Armed Services during World War II as an aerial photographer.

He was employed by Penn Del Supply Company as a truck driver for 26 years before retiring in 1976. John was a member of the Special Police of Kennett Square and a Member and Trustee for Mt. Tabor AME Zion Church by whom he was honored in 2003. He was well read on the topics of WWII and the Civil War, collected coins and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. He relished gardening, flowerbeds and summer bar-b-ques.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene Jackson Sharp; five children, Cecil and Eric Sharp of New Castle, DE, Michael Sharp of Baltimore, MD, JoAnn Prigg of Washington, D.C. and Josiah Goodwin of Camden NJ; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. His son John Sharp III precedes him in death.
